Great Lens! Pretty soft zoomed all the way in but then again it not a $2000 zoom so you have to expect some compromise. Great Macro lens. This type of lens is a must have to take to places you don’t want to risk your expensive glass. If you use it indoors you need to have a flash obviously. The pictures I took with my 50mm 1.8 lens were better but only if you pixel peep. If you are just printing out 5×7 or smaller or publishing to the web this lens will give you great results. Of course if you are a pro photographer this is not for you.
I’m a professional photographer with 25 years experience and have been using Canon 6Ds in my business since they were released. In the full frame world, I progressed from 5D to 5D MK II and then to the 6D. When the 6D Mark II was released, there was a large outcry against the 6D Mark II’s sensor which gave me pause. I downloaded sample RAW files, processed them as I would in my business and evaluated them. While I understand the complaints regarding the sensor, I do not feel it is an issue for me sufficient to justify switching to another brand or spending 65% more for 5D Mark IVs.
Over the past week, I have been testing two 6D Mark II bodies to replace my 6Ds which are heavily used and ready for replacement. Thus far, I am more than pleased with the camera. It is more capable in almost every way than a 6D and the sensor is at least as capable as the 6D while rendering greater detail. I am confident that I will be replacing my two 6Ds with the 6D Mark IIs I am testing.
It is likely that anyone successfully using a Canon 6D now will find the 6D Mark II to be an important upgrade. It is fully capable of producing professional quality images on a par with any full frame competitor.
How can you go wrong with a $40 digital camera. This camera takes adequate pictures and is great for taking photos on trips where your running around. No need to worry about loosing the camera @ this price point it’s easily replaceable. It’s not going to rival a Pro DSLR but for a quick trip to the Zoo, fine.. OR even better give this camera to your up and coming Photographer.. This is perfect for agest 12+, that exactly how I view it… IT works..
This is a great travel camera thanks to the incredible zoom range. I say that based on my personal photographic experience in the past 20+ years. I took this on a short driving vacation to Arizona from California. I also packed a Lumix LX10 for the faster lens (f1.4) that the Zs70 does not offer. That said, the Zs70 is great for bright daylight shots where there is plenty of available light. Night time shots don’t favor well with the f3.3 lens as it adds a lot of noise the image (grain) unless you’re using a flash and close enough to your subject. As a landscaper photographer, this little jewel allowed me to zoom in to areas remarkably well. In comparison with the LX10 that only offers the 24-70 zoom, the Zs70 really did a remarkable job. I can only guess the new Sony RX100-VI is very similar in performance to the Zs70 however the Zs70 is less than half the price of the Sony. I do have the Sony RX100-V as well and don’t find it as enjoyable as the LX10 mainly due to the shorter battery life of the RX100 series cameras. I know I’ve gotten off topic in this review but for the bucks, the Zs70 has little to no competition.
Actually it does take a lot of work.
Not a problem, go ahead.
