Sony FE 16-35 F4 Lens

This lens is a bit pricy for what it offers, however, it is a solid lens and has not let us down yet. This lens is flexible and useful for landscape photographers and photojournalists. This lens constant maximum aperture of F4 is not particularly great.However, it is offset by its image stabilization system or OSS as Sony calls it.

Build:

The construction, it is a simple design, built out of metal at 18.27oz or (0.5 kg). The zoom ring is smooth and grippy. The focus ring is slightly smaller than the zoom ring and also smooth and grippy. It is electronically coupled to the focus motor and responds quite well in manual mode. It works silently, hence perfect for video. The filter size is 72mm and comes with a lens hood. The lens also comes with a dust bag.
Even though, it has a sturdy metal mount, it lacks proper weather sealing.
This lens does not have a manual focus or a focus hold button which for the value is a bit disappointing.

Performance:

The autofocus is great just like all other Sony lenses. It is fast, sharp, and quiet. Which makes it perfect for video.
The image quality is razor-sharp at 16mm f/4. This is with in-camera correction turned on. At 35mm f/4 in the middle of the image, you will see some ghosting. However, at 35mm F/11 the image will be perfect and sharp. Overall this lens is capable of producing incredibly sharp images. Keep in mind it is not the best at low light situations, as this is an F4 lens, but it does the job very well.
This is obviously not a lens for getting background out of focus. But even then, the images are quite ok.

Conclusion:

Just like anything Sony made, it is of high quality and function. This is a very well built lens for the size and function. Even though, it is a bit on the pricy side, compared to many others in the same category, it is highly recommended, especially for video work.
